July 08-Dynamic North Goa Superintendent of Police(SP)Chandan Chaudhary takes drug abuse awareness campaign to schools and colleges of North Goa.
Launched by north district police recently with the help of non governmental organisations(NGOs) in the field and schools and colleges, was taken to St. Xavier's College in Mapusa on Monday where approximatelyre
1200 students attended the programme.
North district police collaborated with Dr Rajesh Dhume,Head of Psychiatric Department of North Goa District hospital, Mapusa, Kripa Foundation and Rise Nation Army.
"An attempt was made to raise awareness through music along with the extremely rich interaction of Dr. Dhume with the students," SP Chaudhary said.
The district police highlighted the legal and enforcement aspect.
"It is an endeavour of Goa police to collaborate with various agencies in order to effectively deal with the problem of drug abuse. The focus is on the younger generation in order to not only make them more aware but also to make them active participants in dealing with this menace of drug abuse,Ms Chaudhary told this journalist.(eom)
